Jigme Tenzin
Jigme Tenzin, BBA with 10 years of experience is the founder of Startup First, the First Training Institute in Bhutan. An institute whose sole mission is to boost individuals’ creative minds and ignite their entrepreneurial and innovative spirits.
He is a highly motivated entrepreneur who founded Bhutan’s premier prop-tech startup, housing.bt in 2016 with the purpose to provide a solution and connect people to their homes and communities. In 2016, Housing.bt was featured in the top 15 startups in Silicon Valley, making it into Obama’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
A passionate and enthusiastic soul who firmly believes in empowering youths and promoting start-up culture in Bhutan. As an entrepreneur himself, he strives to help individuals from every walk of life start their businesses. He helps entrepreneurs design, test, and develop their business models, establish strong leadership teams and adopt sustainable production and consumption practices (SCP).
He has been a proficient trainer for a decade with experience in training more than 3,000 aspiring entrepreneurs and helping hundreds of entrepreneurs access loan and equity financing. Additionally, he has helped them build their organizational capacity as a trainer, mentor, and consultant for MoLHR, Thimphu TechPark, Royal Monetary Authority, DCSI MoEA, Royal Education Council, TVET, Switch Asia program since 2011.
